College is hard. The deadlines, new faces, sights, smells, experiences, etc. There's a huge pressure to succeed in society. Each student responds to this pressure differently. Some party. Some do drugs. Some have sex. Some end their life... This life was never meant to be lived alone. People have never been designed to struggle on their own with issues in life. Here's a question, do you feel alone? Do you desire to belong to a community? Impact could be for you!If you're a visitor to our site you may be asking, "What is Impact?" 

Impact is a student ministry that seeks to exalt Christ on the campus of SIU and surrounding campus' by boldly proclaiming the gospel, meeting needs, and carrying our cross. Our desire is God's desire, that all would come to know Him and experience joy in making much of Him in life. We do this by connecting with each other, engaging people with the gospel, and rejoicing in what God has done and will do.

Each week, we have multiple small group bible studies that are designed to encourage spiritual growth. During these bible studies we read and talk about the Bible, share our thoughts and concerns in life, and share the gospel with other students. 

We also have a group meeting every Wednesday night at 7:30pm to study the Bible, and pray for one another's needs, our schools, and our communities. We also sing worship songs that connect our hearts with our heads, so that what we think about God can result in a deep passion for God. 

We don't ONLY pray and sing and study the Bible, but we also spend personal time with each other. We have social events that range anywhere from going to someone's dorm/apartment and watching a movie to hiking in the Shawnee National Forest. Our activities don't stop with the Southern Illinois area, but we partner with other ministries and seek to meet needs where they are. For example, some of us travel to Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and partner with a student ministry there on campus. Over Spring Break, we take a trip to Nashville to help City Church Network meet needs and share the gospel with the international populations there. There are so many opportunities for anyone to belong to a strong, loving community that looks to honor ALL people and share the gospel until ALL have heard and there is no place left that has not heard the gospel.

At Impact, we don't just hang out. We don't just pass the time. We seek to be intentional in everything that we do. If that's something you want as you study in college then this is a place for you, and you belong at Impact!
